I enjoy spending my free time cooking, barbequing, entertaining, and spending time with family and friends. I have always enjoyed hunting and fishing and look forward to having a little more time for both in the future. Golf has always been an interest of mine, but my game needs a lot of work; and pickleball has become a new sensation for me. I also enjoy spending time at my farm, whether putzing around on the tractors or the track loader or just relaxing riding around the trails with a 'cold one'.

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is trust your team and only through working together will any one single person achieve greatness

One of the best pieces of advice that I have ever been given is “under promise and over achieve”. In simple terms, be honest about what you know that you can do, and then do everything in your power to do better than that. Whether this is in business or in life you will make somebody very happy.

I work in construction because my father and brothers were also in the construction industry and I knew it would be a good career. I enjoy looking back at the buildings that I have been a part of, as a carpenter earlier in my career and on the management side in the later years.

I enjoy spending my free time traveling when time permits. My favorite place to travel is Hawaii. My husband and I try to get there every couple of years, sometimes more.

I work in construction because I get to take a part in changing the skyline one building at a time.  There is a sense of pride and accomplishment when I can drive through different cities knowing that I was part of a lasting impact on a community.

My favorite project was GlaxoSmithKline's Tums Manufacturing Facility because of the Tums production-line-shutdown time-constraints and complex scope of work. TJ Wies finished the project ahead of schedule and on-budget. It was a very memorable project due to the challenges and successful completion.

I enjoy spending my free time raising my daughters. My husband and I both have a hard time saying no to sports, so my girls are quite involved with soccer, basketball, volleyball, and golf. On top of their sports we play on a sand volleyball league and golf league ourselves. I also enjoy working out bright and early every morning with either bootcamp, lifting weights, or yoga, before coming into work every day.

I enjoy spending my free time JUNKING – my husband and I love road tripping to different antique stores or flea markets and have several unique pieces in our home that we have restored. When we’re not spending time remodeling our new home we love traveling and spending time with our family and friends!

I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and our two daughters. We love going to the flea market every Sunday and working on projects around the house.

I am a nurse by trade and have always worked in nurse management. After Covid, the field was very difficult and stressful, and I was ready for a change! Being an Administrative Assistant was perfect, as I am able to use my management experience to my benefit.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is not to waste your time on a grudge - forgive and move on. Anger isn't healthy for anyone!

I enjoy spending my free time off-road trail riding in our Jeep. It is always a great time hanging out with family and friends and meeting new people. There is also the exciting challenge of working though the obstacles on the tougher trails and learning new skills.

I chose to work at TJ Wies because of all the positive feedback I got from people who work there. It’s all about the family atmosphere, the dedication everyone has, the team approach in which they take, the safety aspect of the whole company, the innovative ideas, the values they have, and the caring of every employee who works here.

My favorite project was the McDonnell Planetarium in Forest Park. As a child I remember going to the city and being amazed by what I thought looked like a great big spaceship. I’m proud to have helped renovate and preserve such a unique piece of St. Louis history for another generation.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and about anything outdoors. Hunting, fishing, softball, and golf - even though my golf game needs a lot of work. Every now and then I make a good shot and think maybe I should keep playing instead of throwing my clubs.

What are some causes you care about? I am a huge animal lover. I like to volunteer at animal shelters when I can and also try and promote adopting animals who are in need.

My favorite project was the Gateway Arch Museum in downtown St. Louis because it is neat to be able to say I worked on a national monument.

When I was a boy working on projects around the house with my father he once told me, “If something is worth spending your time doing, then its certainly worth doing it right.” That has stuck with me ever since. Why waste your priceless time and life on something and do a poor job?

I work in construction because I love to see all the parts and pieces of a project come together from paper to finished product. Construction keeps me on my toes because I am always dealing with different situations and with different people; no day is the same as another.

I work in construction because at TJ Wies I still get excited every day for working with the best and brightest in the industry.  It’s a great feeling when you know your team supports you and builds on nothing but success.

My favorite project was the South Endzone at University of Missouri Columbia because of the uniqueness of the project and the publicity that surrounded it!

I began my career in construction as an intern at TJ Wies in the summer of 2015 in between my Junior and Senior year at the University of Missouri. My main role starting off was everyone’s (mostly Adam’s) “little helper” to put it appropriately. Within a few weeks, it was decided I would tackle the task no one person had time to work on. Bringing technology to our foremen by implementing the iPad to our field. The next two and half months I solely focused on getting iPads equipped with email, construction apps, and electronic forms to bring our field business into the modern age of technology. Since then, we have continued to upgrade our field technology at rapid paces with new software and more capable apps.

I work in construction because I’m a builder and that’s what builders do. It’s in my DNA. I get excited about finding creative solutions to challenging problems. Hours fly by when I’m actively engaged in the building process. I love not only the results, but the process as well. In my “spare time” at home with my wife and three sons the majority of my time is spent building things and working on projects together. If I’m not building something I’m probably in the middle of planning the next project. I wake up with thoughts about building things and I daydream about how to build them better. Working in construction is truly the intersection of my greatest passion and God-given talents. It’s what I love to do, and what I’m good at.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is "If it were easy, everyone would do it, accept the challenges in anything and everything." Another great piece of advice I've been given is to read "The Man in the Arena" by Theodore Roosevelt.

I chose to work at TJ Wies because I enjoy the people I work with and I like working for a company that cares about their employees. I feel like we have a positive workplace and good work culture.

I work in construction because I enjoy working through challenges on a project as it is an always-changing environment, as well as the feeling of accomplishment when the building is completed, and having a satisfied customer! I also enjoy the opportunities to build relationships with fellow TJW Team Members, other tradespersons, and our clients.
